On Saturday, Feb 26, 2000 I ventrued out to Mountain Creek to get one last day of Snowboarding in before the season ended. (Its been a wierd winter, extremely cold until to the last week of Feb when the temp rose into the 60s. Nice for an early spring, but is sucks for a long snow-sports season. Anyways, I went with Matt and Brian. Here is Matt preparing for the 1st run of the day.

This is Brian. Brian has strap on bindings so he was using the bench to get into his board. I think I'll take this opportunity to profess my support for Switch step-in bindings. They rock! (and you never have people standing around waiting for you.... right Brian...)

This picture was taken from the cabriolet, on our way to the top for another run. It was a fairly warm, and foggy day. At the top of the mountain you couldn't see more than 100 feet. But you take what you can get, or else you stay home like a looser...

Brian and Matt are very amazing. They have both improved greatly within the season. This is actually Matts 3rd time on a snowboard, his 1st time being about a month earlier. We had him going down diamonds, doing jumps, and even in the half pipe by the end of the day.

Matty Mo tearing up the slopes toeside. He really was a natural at this, Im glad he decided to try it out. Perhaps next year he will get his own board and join me more often.
|
I took this picture as Brian passed me going down a slope on the south mountain. I'm actually surprised it came out. I was certain all i would get is the clouds.

Since the snow was soft, it made for good jump practice. Here Matt was trying to do this jump, but the mountain ultimately prevailed. Brian is waiting for his turn....
|
Nice. Brian actually gets some nice air here. I don't remember if he stuck the landing. He was trying some crazy shit this day.

Brian. Perhaps telling the tale of how he conquered the mountain.
|
Matt. Perhaps making up an excuse for not doing any flips in the halfpipe.... next year...??
